I don’t stand on formality too much so contacting me shouldn’t cause heart palpitations or sweaty palms. I prefer if you open with something catchy like:

Hi Patti,

Hope the day finds you well and the weather there is awesome. Here in__________the weather is_________.

Or something along those lines–just be yourself.

Tell me a little about yourself in the body of the message, if you’d like to guest post on a regular basis add a link to your blog so I can check you out.

Guidelines:  Don’t you hate ‘em?  But we need to have a few, and they are subject to change on occasion.

• Be familiar with the wordpress blogging platform.
• No more than 3 links to your blog.
• Self promotion is allowed.  You can link relevant posts you’ve done elsewhere, but your post here should be mostly about your writing passion or informative about writing in general.
• I also accept topics about anything related to the field of writing: tips, tricks, grammar, punctuation, fiction, non-fiction, magazine writing, copywriting, etc.
• No short stories unless they tell your story as a writer and your passion.
• Send an image of yourself if you’d like–to go with your bio at the bottom of your post. For an example of this see Larry Brooks of Storyfix.com guest post.
