I recently posted my plans for 2012. I will focus on a few key things but one of my major goals that I didn’t cover was doing Internet Marketing. Many gurus tell you that it’s the “hardest” niche to get into. It’s not that it’s hard, but it is huge and you do start off as a little fish in a gigantic ocean. That would normally terrify me because I don’t feel I have the “knowledge” to step off into this big bad world. However, I have learned in life that you learn by doing. You can have a lot of knowledge in theory, but until you put it into practice, it’s all just theory.
Another biggie on my list is to become a super affiliate. Until recently I hadn’t thought much about that. I love affiliate marketing. I love sharing products that I find valuable and useful. However, I don’t really promote products as much as I promote the people behind them. I have to like the person before I recommend their product. I do want to be one of the top promoters for great products. I also want to promote physical products as well. We all use stuff in our homes and most of it can be purchased online. If there’s an affiliate program, you might as well use it. Right?
One of the key things for me is to ask myself if I’d promote it for free. If I have to stop and think about the answer, then I don’t promote it.
Another key for me is trying to avoid upsells. I’m not fond of them and I rarely follow any marketer that does this. In the past this has always been a cheesy tactic to me, but I’m starting to find a few who use upsells, but they aren’t sleazy. I’ll save my thoughts on that for another post.
Anyway, growing big balls, stepping out of the comfort zone, making connections and finally getting down to business. I have all of this theory in my head. I have a hard drive full of info-products and courses that contain all the theory I should ever need. It’s time to put it into practice. That’s the goal for 2012.
I’ve decided that I’m not willing to just let life happen to me any more. Life IS what you make it and I believe you can create any life you want. You just have to get off your ass and your excuses and MAKE IT HAPPEN!
2012, for me, is about stepping out of those excuses and comfort zones and going boldly into the future.
What is your goal for 2012? Are you going to dig in and get serious with your business? Are you finally going to become an expert in your niche and be the go-to person for answers? Are you finally going to bust out of the low pay freelance rut and grab some big clients for your writing business?
Whatever business you’re in, I’d love to hear what YOU have planned for the new year.
To your success!
Patti

Hey Patti,
Excellent topic! I think the key to growing big balls is to focus on the word “grow”. There is no overnight formula to make those balls big, it’s a process of growing. Take one or two scary things and do them until they’re not scary anymore.
I think you’d make a great super affiliate, Patti. You’ve got the IM knowledge now, you’ve made lots of connections with your sassy spirit :), plus you’re known to be honest with your recommendations. Go for it!
I know I’ve grown this last year, but I think 2012 is going to be even better. You’re right, life IS what you make it!
Cheers,
Peggy

Ah Peggy, You give me a big head to go with my big new balls. Yes!
Thank you so much for your comments, your advice and your wisdom. I may not always respond, but I do follow what you have to say.
I’ve held back because I didn’t think I had enough knowledge, but I do. Besides, I’m not getting any younger and I have absolutely nothing to lose, so I might as well go for it. Plus, if the Mayan calendar ends the world I’d like to go out with a bang. I just wish it’d wait until after Christmas. LOL
