July 7 Writing Sprint

Welcome to the Wednesday Writing Sprint.

This event happens one day per week. It’s when you dedicate the entire day strictly to writing. Try to turn off email, social media–anything that distracts you and just write.
The time can be spent outlining characters, plots, scenes, etc. or it can be spent using it for a writing marathon or getting caught up on freelance work. The focus is to simply devote more time to your writing.
Enjoy and share your progress throughout the day in comments.

Be sure to visit the Free Reports page. I recently added a Freelance Success Report for you to download. Enjoy! :)

  1. Good Morning Happy Writers!

This is a new event at The Scribe but don't let that stop you from participating. Please help spread the word for future weeks.

    Thanks!

Good morning! I'm getting a slow start to the day but I hope to draft an encyclopedia article and draft some interview questions for a magazine article. And if I get that done, I'll be a happy camper. :)

    I'm here! I'm here! :D

I'll be working on my Julnowrimo novel, Redemption. I have other things to do, too, so I don't know how much I'll get written. I'm hoping for 5K, but I'll settle for 1,500, if it comes to that.

    I'll check in later!

Hey Lois, glad to see you're here. :)
I think it's just one of those days where everyone gets a late start.
Good luck on your daily goal!

      • LMEighmy says:

Yeah. It's also one of those days where there are lots of distractions. But I've written 571 words, so far! :D I've also changed the ~*~*~*~'s to dates and times. ;)

  4. Awesome! Best of luck on your goals.

I was going to have a sprint day, but it's turned into a reading sprint. But that's cool, reading is good.

After starting somewhere around four hours later than planned, I've finally worked out a set of interview questions for an article I would like to pitch. At least I got 1 of the 2 tasks completed I'd set for myself today. :D

  5. LMEighmy says:

I wish I had more time to read, but at least I finished Black Diamond yesterday. Ja'Nese Dixon can really turn out a great story! :D

I'm done for the day, unless some random idea pops in my head and insists it be written down. :) Catch y'all next time 'round.

  7. LMEighmy says:

I finished a long time ago, but because of other things that needed to be done, I'm just now posting. I ended up writing 2,569 words in Redemption, bringing my Julnowrimo word count total to 20,524, so far. :)

It's been a good day, but I'm finished now. Catch you next week! :D

  8. Great work everyone! Hope to see you back next Wednesday. Bring friends. :)

Don't forget Monday will be Mayhem & Madness.

Tomorrow is Freelance Friday and I have nothing. LOL. I guess I better get to work.

    • LMEighmy says:

It was a lot of fun! :D

I guess tomorrow will either be errand day or a 10K Day for me. It will depend on what we decide to do (Jeff's having the car worked on, and that could take a long time).

    • LMEighmy says:

Refresh my memory. What's Mayhem & Madness?

  9. Mayhem & Madness is a fiction day–let your characters run amuck and frolic in mayhem and madness. :)

It's set to autopost at 11:55 pm on Sunday.

  10. LMEighmy says:

Cool. That sounds like fun! :D
