@Lois - I tend to have the same fears; speaking in public, book signings, etc. But I'm willing to get over it. LOL.

Kevin hasn't been on stage in quite awhile, but he loves it and thrives on it when he's there. So maybe some of his enthusiasm will rub off on me.

@Alone - Oh lets not discuss math fears! That's why I'm a writer. LOL. English wasn't a great subject either, but after writing for so long I do find it quite interesting.

@Milli - Glad you found some good journaling material. I've discovered recently that people can be afraid and not really realize it. This blog post was like a journaling topic, I just sat down and asked a bunch of questions of myself and decided other's may benefit from asking themselves questions.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
Write On!

Great questions, Patti. Each of these questions could be journaled about for more insight into what holds us back as writers.

Amazing how intangibles such as these can seem to have so much power over us. But we do have the power to change how we react, so that's the good news. Starting with penetrating questions to help understand our own internal blocks can be very helpful. I'm planning to use some of your questions in my next journaling session. Thank you :~)

Oh, yes. I'm afraid! I'm afraid that if I become a success, suddenly I will have to read out loud to people. I'm afraid people will want to meet me and I won't measure up! I'm afraid that I'll run out of ideas and won't have any more books to write.

I'm overcoming it by writing. Writing is the best cure for writer's block and it's the best way to overcome fears. Write about your fears. Write about your dreams. Write, write and keep on writing! :D
